No Time for Inertia in Face of U.S. Threats
The fact is that the first victim of a Zionist lobby, which acts like a malignant tumor, is its host country. Ever since this lobby organized in the United States, the respectable American nation has paid a hefty price for hosting this malignant tumor.
Today, the massacre of innocent Palestinians at the hands of the Zionist forces is being funded by the American taxpayers, and thousands of American forces are at the firing line to protect Israeli -- not American -- interests. The U.S. support for the Zionist entity has reached such an extent that Washington threatens any country voicing criticism of Zionist crimes against the oppressed Palestinians. That is why the Islamic Iran is today a target of U.S. baseless accusations and threats. But ever since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the vigilant Iranian people have foiled all the U.S. and Zionist plots against their national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and they will surely do so in the future.
As one of the emerging democracies of the world, the Iranian Parliament, the outcome of the blood of numerous martyrs, who sacrificed themselves for an independent Iran, can play an effective role in thwarting any threats targeting our honorable nation. As the first step in this direction, all parliamentary caucuses should put an end to their petty factional disputes and adopt a unified stand against foreign threats. The Majlis should give a proper response to the dishonorable behavior of the U.S. Congress toward the Islamic Republic. While the prudent stance taken by Saudi Arabia is certainly worthy of praise, it is unfortunate that the Islamic Consultative Assembly is yet to make an official response to the U.S. accusations.
Surely, responding to the U.S. threats should be given priority over rather less important issues such as the fierce verbal dispute between the women's caucus of the Majlis and MP Mohsen Armin over the participation of women in the next cabinet!
